Ubisoft announces staff departures after misconduct allegations

(Reuters) – French video games group Ubisoft announced several staff departures on Saturday after conducting a review in response to allegations of misconduct at the company, which earlier reports said centered around sexual misconduct charges.

The changes were initiated to improve “workplace culture”, the company said.

The group’s chief creative officer, managing director of its Canadian studios and global head of human resources have resigned from their positions, effective immediately, the company said.

“Departures come following the initiation of a rigorous review that the Company initiated in response to recent allegations and accusations of misconduct and inappropriate behavior,” the company said in a statement.

Tesla cuts price of Model Y SUV by $3,000, Electrek says

(Reuters) – U.S. electric carmaker Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) reduced the price of its sports utility vehicle Model Y by $3,000, Electrek bit.ly/327OJoV reported on Saturday.

Tesla’s mid-sized SUV, which is sold as a Long Range or Performance version – is now priced at $49,990, according to the carmaker’s website bit.ly/327lz9y.

The Performance version will be updated with a new configuration, the report added.

Tesla did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.

The Model Y was unveiled on March 14 last year, promising a much-awaited crossover that will face competition from European carmakers rolling out their own electric rivals.

In April, Tesla had said the Model Y was already profitable, marking the first time in the company’s history that one of its new vehicles

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – India’s government has petitioned a state court to stop any of the Chinese companies whose 59 apps it recently banned from obtaining an injunction to block the order, according to two sources and the legal filing.

India last month outlawed dozens of Chinese apps including ByteDance’s popular video-sharing app TikTok, Alibaba’s (BABA.N) UC Browser and Tencent’s (0700.HK) messaging app WeChat, saying they posed a “threat to sovereignty and integrity”.

Exclusive: Italy pushes to end stalemate over single broadband network – source

ROME (Reuters) – Italy has told state-controlled utility Enel to reach a deal with Telecom Italia by the end of July on plans to create a single broadband network for the country, a person close to the matter told Reuters on Saturday.

In an effort to close its digital gap with the rest of Europe, Italy has been pushing for a unified network combining Telecom Italia’s (TIM) assets with those of Open Fiber, a wholesale-only operator owned by Enel and state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).

TIM has been in talks for months over a merger of its fibre network assets with those of Open Fiber, but differences over issues such as governance and regulation have created a deadlock.
